“Fall Conference 2006 – Back to the Future”

We are excited to announce Fall Conference 2006 will be the weekend of October 14^th and 15^th. Seeing that this may be one of our last conferences at Montgomery Hall, we want to tie in our rich heritage and past along with our exciting vision of a new home for this ministry. Therefore, we have entitled the conference: “Back to the Future”. Our guest speaker is a man many “old-timers” from GNBC will fondly remember: Dr. Don Orvis! Dr. Orvis, a frequent speaker at GNBC events in the 1970’s, was known for powerful, biblically centered messages highlighted by an incredible sense of humor.  Orvis’ messages challenged a generation of Good Newsers and we believe he will challenge us again as he shares three messages from Hebrews 11.

            When Dr. Orvis was a frequent speaker at Good News, he was a professor at Denver Seminary, an institution where he would remain for nearly twenty years. After resigning at Denver , Don would become the North American Director of Medical Ambassadors International, in this capacity he would serve five years. The last ten years has found Don and his wife, Nancy, ministering with Face to Face International, an agency specializing in short-term missions trips and teams located in Scottsdale , AZ.

            Along with some familiar faces and speakers, we will be having some events tailored to take many of us down memory lane while creating a new set of memories for another generation of Good Newsers. Get ready for a real “pig-pickin” cookout (does that bring back memories for any of you who spent a night or more outdoors cooking those pigs in the 1970’s?), an afternoon of fun and games, great music, testimonies, and of course, excellent and motivating Biblical instruction.
