Basement Update
On Sunday, November 29th, 2009, at the Thanksgiving Sunday brunch, the elders of GNBC made an exciting announcement to the gathered congregation! This announcement stated that research has been done and bids have been collected that are at about the same amount as our existing building fund, that would allow us to proceed in developing the basement.
As you may know, at present, the 10,000 sq. ft. basement only has walls in place to divide the various classrooms. These classrooms are not “closed” off with doors or finished ceilings, and needless to say, with a growing Sunday School, things can be a bit (understatement) loud!
The proposal before the church body is to do the following work, beginning in the early part of the new year: finishing off the classrooms and installing bathrooms in the basement and beginning work on the kitchen. Also included in the remodel would be required upgrades to the sprinkler system, hvac units, as well as electrical work. We intend to do this as we have the money. With present economic conditions, the time seems right to move forward.
