Dear friends,
By now you are most likely aware that Governor Reynolds has issued an emergency proclamation that limits group gatherings in the state of Iowa. This proclamation states that “Social, community, spiritual, religious, leisure, and sporting gatherings and events of more than 10 people are hereby prohibited at all locations and venues….” (Iowa Emergency Proclamation; 3-17-2020; section three, sub paragraph E: Mass Gatherings”). In compliance with Gov. Reynolds’ proclamation, Good News Bible Church will suspend worship services and all scheduled activities until April 1, 2020. This date is subject to change pursuant to any modifications issued by Gov. Reynolds.
Pastoral staff will be recording weekly video messages that will be available to you, through the church website by 10:45 AM on Sunday morning and available on demand thereafter.
We are also working on a video solution to gather together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. More information on that will be forthcoming.
To access the current and past videos, you can go to the church website (www.GoodNewsIowaCity.com) and click on the “Resources” link at the top right of the page. When the “Resources” page comes up, click on “Weekly Sermons” OR you can also click the direct link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSto2yR7q4HjjqF2AFJIdbg
The page will open with several video links along the bottom of the page. They are organized by title and date. If you need help getting access to this website, please contact the church office by Friday (319-354-3331) or Pastor Wootonn by phone. We will either talk you through the setup or have an individual from the church who will make an appointment with you to come to your home to walk you through it.
We want to assure all of you that may need assistance or support that the Pastoral Staff will be available to you. Please feel free to contact the office, Pastoral staff or Barry Bedford if we can be of assistance to you or if you have any additional questions.
We hope that through phone calls, Facebook, and other social media venues we can continue to fellowship and pray together.
For the safety of yourselves and others, please follow the guidelines of Gov. Reynolds’ proclamation. In the meantime, please pray for:
1. Each other in our fellowship, for protection and health,
2. Our nation and those who will be negatively impacted by the pandemic, and
3. That this pandemic will be controlled and we can resume services to our congregation and the community, activities and fellowships.
Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation – GNBC Pastoral Staff
